Saving Memories
Some things most desperately needing preservation have no monetary value, like photographs, letters, and stories. In a generation from now, will your family know anything about the person who passed away? You can’t force them to, but you can at least give them the opportunity. There are services that will scan photos for you and transcribe or digitize letters, then put them out on the cloud. If you don’t think of yourself as much of a writer, can you at least collect audio or video recordings of people sharing reminiscences about a loved one? There are even people who will take those recordings and turn them into a written form!
